Custom Pool Construction

A pool designed for your backyard — not borrowed from someone else’s.

From the first site visit to the first swim, we coordinate the design decisions, specialized trades, and construction phases behind a custom in-ground pool.

Overview

Built around how you live outside

A custom pool starts with questions, not a catalog. How will you use it on a weekday evening? Who swims — young kids, serious lap swimmers, guests who mostly lounge? Where does the afternoon sun land, and what do you see from the kitchen window? Those answers shape the size, depth, shape, and placement of the pool long before anyone talks about tile.

Eleven Pools coordinates the full scope of a new pool: preliminary layout, engineering and soil considerations, permitting, excavation, steel and plumbing, shell construction, electrical, tile and coping, decking, interior finish, equipment, and startup. You get one point of contact and a clear picture of what happens next at every phase.

Most custom residential pools in North Texas are built with a concrete (gunite or shotcrete) shell, which allows nearly unlimited freedom of shape, depth, and integrated features. We’ll talk through the options that make sense for your property and budget during your consultation.

Benefits

Why homeowners choose it

  • 01

    Shaped to your property

Layout, depth, and orientation are planned around your lot lines, views, sun exposure, and existing architecture.

  • 02

    Features integrated from day one

Spas, sun shelves, benches, water features, and lighting are planned into the shell instead of added later.

  • 03

    One coordinated team

We schedule and coordinate the trades involved so you aren’t managing separate contractors yourself.

  • 04

    Clear decisions, in order

We walk you through selections — finishes, tile, coping, equipment — at the point in the schedule when each one matters.

Customization

Ways to make it yours

Every pool is a set of choices. These are some of the most common conversations we have during planning.

  • Shape & style

Clean geometric rectangles, soft freeform curves, L-shapes, lap lanes, and classic Roman or Grecian ends.

  • Sun shelves & benches

Shallow tanning ledges for loungers and umbrellas, built-in benches, and wide entry steps.

  • Interior finishes

Plaster, quartz, and pebble aggregate finishes — each affects water color, texture underfoot, and long-term upkeep.

  • Tile & coping

Waterline tile and coping in natural stone, porcelain, or cast stone to complement your home’s exterior.

  • Lighting & automation

Color LED lighting, app-based controls, and energy-conscious equipment sized for your pool.

  • Integrated spa

A raised or flush spa with a spillover edge, sharing equipment with the pool where practical.

Construction considerations

What goes into building in North Texas

  • Expansive clay soils

Much of Collin and Denton County sits on clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry. Engineering and soil information guide how the shell and decking are designed for that movement.

  • Permits & inspections

Each city has its own pool permit process, inspection sequence, and barrier (fencing and gate) requirements. These are confirmed for your address during planning.

  • HOA approval

Many newer communities require architectural review before construction. We help you prepare the plans and details your HOA typically asks for.

  • Access, easements & setbacks

Equipment access, utility easements, setback lines, and drainage paths all affect where a pool can go — we review them before a design is finalized.
